Sports at our branch, as with many Legion branches, includes golf in summer,
organized darts in fall through spring, and crib every second and fourth Saturday
of each month. As soon as weather permits, our golf enthusiasts are hitting
the greens. If you are interested in becoming a regular participant,
call the office for information.
The Saturday morning crib tournaments are held unless unforeseen circumstance
prevents proceeding as usual. Generally, those wishing to participate in the
regular tournaments arrive at the branch by 9:30 a.m. to ensure they are able
to obtain a place.
Branch darts groups play on both Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, focusing on enjoyment of an evening of socialized competition. New players are always welcome.
There is also a group of bridge players that meets in our lounge every Wednesday
after lunch. These people are open to enlisting new participants.
Finally, we have a snooker table on the games room side of our lounge, although
we do not have organized tournaments here. The table is used on a first come,
first served basis, with cost set on an honour system at two dollars,
to play for a reasonable length of time.
If any of these branch sports appeal to you, please contact our office at
780 458-3330 for more information. You may also refer to our Branch News
or Calendar for updates on sporting events.
Everyone is welcome to Tuesday night drop-in golf at a course identified at the beginning of each season. The play is 2-ball. The cost of 9 holes is determined seasonally.
